US-Supplied White Phosphorus Used by Israeli Army in Lebanon Attacks, Washington Post Reports

The US-supplied white phosphorus used by the Israeli army during attacks in Lebanon has been revealed, according to an article by The Washington Post. The report specifies that Israel utilized the white phosphorus munitions provided by the US during attacks in the southern region of Lebanon in October.

The article highlights that at least nine civilians were injured as a result of these attacks. Journalists investigating the matter discovered that the production codes on the shells correspond to the nomenclature used by the Pentagon. The newspaper’s sources indicate that these munitions were manufactured in Louisiana and Arkansas in 1989 and 1992, and are part of the annual US military supplies to Israel.

In late November, the World Health Organization (WHO) did not find any burns caused by white phosphorus among patients in Gaza. Prior to this, the Permanent Representative of Palestine to the UN, Ibrahim Kraishi, had claimed to the media that the Israeli army had used white phosphorus munitions during strikes in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu vowed to destroy Hamas.
