Russia’s President Putin Announces New Missile Carriers for Pacific Fleet

In a recent ceremony on board the nuclear submarine “Krasnoyarsk,” Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the ballistic missile submarines “Imperator Alexander III” and “Krasnoyarsk” will soon be deployed in the Pacific Fleet. These remarks were made during the raising of the Russian flag on the submarines and were reported by RIA Novosti.

“In the near future, the submarines ‘Imperator Alexander III’ and ‘Krasnoyarsk’ will begin their service in the Pacific Fleet,” stated Putin.

At the end of November, the Russian Navy received two atomic submarines – the strategic “Alexander III” (Project 955A, “Borey-A”) and the multipurpose “Krasnoyarsk” (Project 885M, “Yasen-M”).

Prior to this, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu announced that 12 ships will be added to the Russian Navy by the end of 2023. Among them will be surface and underwater vessels.

Earlier, Putin had discussed the future of the Russian military, emphasizing its modernization and development.
