Russian President Vladimir Putin Approves Flag Raising on New Nuclear Submarines

Russian President Vladimir Putin has given the green light for the hoisting of the Russian flag on the “Krasnoyarsk” atomic submarine and the “Emperor Alexander III” atomic submarine cruiser. The ceremony is set to take place on Monday in Severodvinsk, as reported by RIA Novosti.

During his speech, the head of state stated, “These formidable missile carriers, unmatched by any other, are beginning their service.”

Putin also emphasized that Russia will continue to equip its fleet with modern technology and armaments, as well as increase serial production.

At the end of November, the Russian Navy received two atomic submarines, the strategic “Alexander III” (Project 955A, “Borey-A”) and the multi-purpose “Krasnoyarsk” (Project 885M, “Yasen-M”).

Prior to this, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that 12 ships would join the Russian Navy by the end of 2023, including surface and underwater vessels.

Earlier, Putin revealed details about the future of the Russian military.
