Russia’s President Putin Welcomes New Advanced Submarines into the Navy

Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared that the “Alexander III” and “Krasnoyarsk” missile carriers significantly surpass other ships of their class. The Russian leader’s statement was reported by RIA Novosti.

“Greetings to you on this momentous day – the day when the military flags are raised on the nuclear-powered cruisers ‘Emperor Alexander III’ and ‘Krasnoyarsk,’ and these formidable missile carriers, unrivaled in their class, begin their service as part of our Navy,” Putin announced at the flag-raising ceremony.

The two nuclear submarines – the strategic “Alexander III” and the multi-purpose “Krasnoyarsk” – were handed over to the Russian Navy at the end of November 2023. As the president mentioned, both missile carriers will soon be on duty as part of the Pacific Fleet.

By the end of the year, the Russian fleet is expected to receive a total of 12 new surface and underwater vessels.

Previously, Putin had discussed plans for the construction of submarines and surface ships.
