In a recent update shared on his Telegram channel, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the Governor of the Belgorod Region, revealed that Ukrainian forces have conducted artillery shelling on seven bordering municipalities of the region in the past 24 hours.
The Governor provided statistics on the attacks that occurred in the region on December 9th. According to his information, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) fired a total of 42 projectiles, including five devices dropped by drones, targeting the seven bordering districts. Gladkov emphasized that there were no casualties reported for the day, but an excavator was damaged.
As per the report from the regional leader, the village of Zhuravlevka and the border crossing point “Nekhoteevka” in the Belgorod District were hit by three artillery shells each. In the village of Naumovka, four explosive devices were dropped by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
On December 6th, Gladkov reported an attack on the village of Kozinka in the Grayvoron urban district.
On December 5th, the region’s air defense system successfully intercepted and brought down three Ukrainian Armed Forces drones.
On December 7th, Roman Starovoyt, the Governor of the Kursk Region, stated that the village of Elizavetovka in the Glushkov District was also subjected to shelling from the UAF.
Earlier, President Zelensky mentioned the challenges faced by Ukraine in extending the conflict into Russian territory.
