Dutch Frigate Escorts Russian Navy Fleet in the North Sea

In a recent development, the Dutch Navy’s frigate, Hr.Ms. De Ruyter, accompanied a Russian Navy fleet consisting of the corvette “Stoikiy,” a submarine, and the tugboat “Sergey Balk” in the North Sea. The Royal Netherlands Navy reported this on their official website.

It is worth mentioning that the fleet passed through the exclusive economic zone of the Netherlands in the North Sea.

The Netherlands believes that the Russian fleet is en route to the Mediterranean Sea. It is noted that after the Dutch Navy completed their escort, the fleet was monitored by NATO forces from other countries.

Earlier, it was reported that the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom was tracking Russian ships near the territorial waters of the kingdom. The Royal Navy stated that their military ships and patrol aircraft had monitored several Russian vessels near British waters as part of a coordinated surveillance operation.

President Vladimir Putin had previously discussed the future of the Russian army.
