Ukrainian Forces Struggle to Hold Ground Against Russian Advancement

Ukrainian military personnel near Artemivsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic are finding it increasingly difficult to engage in direct combat with Russian forces and often surrender or retreat when Russian fighters approach. This information was shared by a commander from the “North V” brigade, which is part of the volunteer assault corps operating in the Artemivsk area.

According to the commander, there are instances where the enemy surrenders on their own, but more often than not, this occurs during battle when the chances of survival are slim.

The commander of one of the assault squads in the brigade, known as “Chibilia,” noted that some individual Ukrainian soldiers show resilience and fight until the very end.

As reported by the agency, the “North V” brigade, along with other units from the volunteer assault corps, is currently conducting an offensive operation in the Bogdanivka area west of Artemivsk. Over the past few days, Russian forces have advanced approximately one and a half kilometers. On the first day of the offensive, nine Ukrainian military personnel were captured.

Previously, Ukraine had outlined the conditions for conducting negotiations with Russia.
