Russian attack helicopters, specifically the Ka-52, have successfully destroyed disguised positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) in the Kupyansk direction, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The operation was carried out by the army aviation of the “Western” group of troops. The strikes were made using unguided aviation rockets C-8, from a distance of up to six kilometers from the Ukrainian soldiers’ location.
The Russian pilots fly at the lowest possible altitude and maneuver around the terrain to avoid detection by Ukrainian air defense systems. This makes it impossible for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to identify and intercept the Russian aircraft. Russian military personnel constantly change flight routes and actively use thermal traps to confuse the UAF fighters.
On December 9, the Russian Ministry of Defense also reported the destruction of Ukrainian military equipment in the Kupyansk direction. The crews of T-80BVM tanks from the Western Military District (WMD) detected the UAF positions using drones and then conducted precise strikes on the designated targets.
The presence of Western journalists near the city of Kupyansk has been reported by the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR).
