The American oil base in the city of Ash-Shaddadi in the province of Al-Hasakah, northeast Syria, has been targeted by a rocket attack. According to a source cited by RIA Novosti, four rockets were fired at the base.
The source claims that the projectiles landed in the residential area of the Al-Jabsa oil fields, which are occupied by US forces as a base.
Prior to this, Iran’s representative to the UN, Amir Sa’id Iravani, stated that Iranian forces have no involvement in incidents involving US forces in the Middle East. In a letter to the Security Council, he emphasized that Tehran rejects unfounded accusations on this matter.
He also added that, in addition to the US accusations, Iran rejects the claims made by Israel and the United Kingdom. Iravani highlighted that Tel Aviv is attempting to justify its aggression against innocent Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
Previously, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported the launch of 15 rockets from Iraqi territory towards an American base in Syria.
Earlier, Shiite groups claimed responsibility for drone attacks on US bases in Syria and Iraq.
