During President Vladimir Putin’s recent visit to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, the accompanying Su-35 fighter jets showcased Russia’s military might, according to Military Watch Magazine.
The author of the publication believes that the presence of the Su-35 fighters “demonstrated Russia’s power,” as these aircraft have a significantly greater flight range compared to any other class of Western fighter jets.
The publication highlights that the arrival of the Russian Su-35s in the region was perceived as a signal of an ongoing geopolitical shift.
Previously, analyst Harrison Cass stated that the Russian fourth-generation++ supersonic fighter, the Su-35S, which had proven itself in special military operations, surpasses all the aircraft currently in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to the expert, the superiority of the Su-35S over Ukrainian aircraft is one of the reasons why Kyiv is urging its Western partners to provide them with new fighters like the F-16.
Cass noted that while Russia is not the main competitor to the United States in the aerospace industry, the next-generation Russian fighters can certainly make America reconsider its position.
Earlier reports indicated that the first Checkmate fighters could be introduced as early as 2025.
