The Russian army has a serious advantage over Ukraine in terms of military aviation, with one of its main tasks being the destruction of anti-aircraft missile systems (SAMs). This was stated by military expert Vasily Dandikin in an interview with NEWS.ru.
He referred to Ukraine’s missile systems as a “serious problem” for the Russian Armed Forces. According to the military analyst, despite Russia’s significant advantage in aviation, the destruction of SAMs “remains a very important task.”
“Dandikin noted that once resistance is completely suppressed, we can talk about our complete dominance in the air.”
The expert clarified that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) use SAMs such as the American Patriot, German IRIS-T, and others. Dandikin pointed out that Russia has a response. First and foremost, this includes smart bombs like the FAB-500 and FAB-1500, which allow aircraft to avoid entering the Ukrainian air defense zone.
Recently, Russia announced missiles capable of shooting down F-16 fighters.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine disclosed the amount of military aid received since February 2022.
