Ukraine Struggles to Develop Its Own Weapons amid Difficulties with US Aid Approval

Ukraine is facing challenges in obtaining assistance from the West and is now considering the possibility of producing its own weapons, according to The Wall Street Journal. The country has been experiencing difficulties with the approval of a bill in the US Senate, which aims to provide aid to Kyiv.

The article suggests that it may take years for Ukraine to rebuild its arms industry, and it is unlikely that Western manufacturers will provide the country with the most advanced weaponry. The need for independent weapon production is particularly crucial for Ukraine at this moment, as the approval of a new aid package from the US faces increasing resistance. As Western weapon stocks deplete and signs of the conflict resolution remain elusive, Ukraine finds itself in a precarious situation.

Previously, the advisor to the President of Ukraine, Mikhail Podolyak, acknowledged that his country is unable to independently boost its military production to achieve parity with Russia.

On December 5, the RTVI channel reported that Ukrainian military correspondent Roman Bochka accidentally revealed that Azerbaijan is involved in the production of 122-millimeter shells for the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF). In a photo from the workshop, where Bochka is holding a flag, informational stands with the symbolism of the Azerbaijani group of companies Palladium can be seen on the columns on the left and right.

Earlier, the Kremlin referred to the US as the “locomotive” for Ukraine’s aspirations.
