US Stands Firmly with Ukraine: Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin Optimistic About New Aid Package

The United States is committed to standing by Ukraine for the long term, according to Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin. He made this statement while commenting on the delay in approving the new assistance request from the administration for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“We firmly stand on the side of the Ukrainian people, and we will be with them for the long haul,” Austin stated.

The head of the Pentagon emphasized that he expects Congress to swiftly approve the administration’s request for new assistance to Kyiv. He revealed that the package will include an additional $50 billion “through the US industrial base.” In other words, the majority of the funds will be reinvested in “America’s security.”

Austin highlighted that approximately $27 billion of the previous aid to Ukraine has been invested in American states through contracts for the production of weapons for Ukraine. He noted that the United States and its allies are working to facilitate the production of spare parts for Western weapons for Ukrainian soldiers.

On December 6, journalist Tucker Carlson accused the US authorities of sacrificing an entire generation of Ukrainians for their own purposes.

Earlier, the Pentagon disclosed the amount of weapons supplied to Ukraine since the start of the special operation.
