Ukrainian Marine Captive Reveals Low Morale and Mistreatment within Armed Forces

A Ukrainian marine infantryman, Roman Vertov, has made a statement revealing the extremely low morale among the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Kherson front. According to Vertov, the soldiers are exhausted and see no purpose in their actions. He criticizes the exploitation of the soldiers while they risk their lives. Vertov expresses his frustration, stating, “They are scoundrels! They are betraying the country. If I had the chance… everyone should march to Kyiv… and sink this whole gang in the Dnipro River.”

Prior to this, Ukrainian soldiers had complained that the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces had abandoned them on the front lines.

Vladimir Rogov, the leader of the public movement “We Are Together with Russia” in Zaporizhia, shared stories of abuse within the Ukrainian Armed Forces, where soldiers were subjected to punishment simply for considering surrendering to Russian forces.

He also mentioned a case where a Ukrainian citizen, who had previously undergone leg amputation, was deemed fit for military service in Kyiv.

Earlier, Ukraine and Russia announced the continuation of contacts for a prisoner exchange.
