Tiffany Gomas, the Texas woman who gained attention for her outburst on a commercial airline flight, has finally shed light on what she witnessed that led to her distress. A Breeze Airways Flight 717, en route from Orlando International Airport to Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport, was forced to make an emergency landing in Jacksonville, Florida after a potential threat was reported on board.
According to officials, the flight departed Orlando on Tuesday afternoon and was diverted just over an hour into the journey. The FBI’s Jacksonville field office spokesperson confirmed that a “potential threat” had been reported, prompting the emergency landing. However, there is currently no information to suggest that a legitimate threat existed.
The Federal Aviation Administration stated that the airline’s crew reported a disturbance on the Airbus A220 aircraft. The Jacksonville Aviation Authority also confirmed that an incident on board the plane necessitated the diversion.
Breeze Airways, the airline involved, has not provided any official comment on the incident at this time.
It is worth noting that this incident comes in the wake of a lawsuit filed by the family of a 14-year-old girl against American Airlines, alleging that a flight attendant placed a hidden camera in the bathroom to record their daughter.
As investigations continue into the reported threat on Breeze Airways Flight 717, passengers and aviation authorities are left with concerns over the safety and security of commercial air travel.
