Russian Pacific Fleet’s Admiral Tributs Arrives in the South China Sea

The large anti-submarine ship Admiral Tributs of the Russian Pacific Fleet has arrived in the South China Sea, according to a statement from the Pacific Fleet’s press service. The ship successfully passed through the Singapore Strait and entered the South China Sea. During the passage through the Singapore Strait, the crew of the Admiral Tributs conducted training exercises in navigating through an area with intense ship traffic.

The Pacific Fleet’s squadron, comprising the Admiral Tributs, Admiral Panteleyev, and the medium-sized sea tanker Pechenga, set sail on October 7 for a long-distance voyage. The Admiral Panteleyev and Pechenga had previously departed from the Vietnamese port of Cam Ranh.

The Russian ships were welcomed by the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Ho Chi Minh City, Timur Sadykov, and the staff of the military attaché’s office at the Russian Embassy in Vietnam.

Earlier, the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, referred to the Russian Pacific Fleet as a guarantee of security in Asia and the world.
