Russian Forces Thwart Ukrainian Offensive in Donetsk Region

Russian motorized infantry units of the “Vostok” task force have successfully halted the actions of a Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) mining group in the South Donetsk direction. This information has been reported by TASS, citing the head of the task force’s press center, Oleg Chekhov.

“During active defense, with artillery fire support, the motorized infantry units of the task force prevented the actions of the mining group and disrupted the rotation of units from the 58th Motorized Infantry Brigade of the UAF in the areas of Urozhainoye and Novodonetskoye, as well as the 118th Territorial Brigade of the UAF in the area of Staromayorsk,” said Chekhov.

According to him, during the combat operations, a quad bike and up to 17 Ukrainian soldiers were eliminated, along with the “Nota” radio-electronic warfare station in the Novomykhailivka area.

Prior to this, a Ukrainian soldier, stationed with his unit on the eastern bank of the Dnieper River, reported heavy fighting and Russian control over supply lines.

The soldier mentioned that the crossing over the Dnieper is constantly under fire.

Earlier, a UAF fighter expressed his lack of understanding of the reasons behind the conflict in Ukraine.
