US Funding for Ukraine Nearly Depleted, Raises Concerns

The spokesperson for the US Department of State, Matthew Miller, expressed his concerns during a briefing that over 97% of the funds allocated for aid to Ukraine have been exhausted.

“We are extremely concerned that the funding has been depleted,” Miller stated.

According to him, US President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken have urged Congress to “act as quickly as possible.” Miller also noted that Ukrainian forces are making progress on the battlefield, although it is proving to be difficult for them.

Jake Sullivan, National Security Advisor to the US President, also stated that once the allocated funds for assistance to Ukraine are exhausted, weapons shipments to Kyiv will cease.

On December 4th, in response to the US administration’s call to expedite the approval of aid to Ukraine, Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson stated that this request will only be considered alongside the allocation of funds for border security with Mexico.

Previously, it was acknowledged in the US that the delivery of F-16 fighters would not lead to the desired outcome for Kyiv.

Earlier, Biden stated that support for Ukraine will not cease.
