US Command Reports Rocket Attack on American Base in Syria

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced the launch of 15 rockets from Iraq towards an American base in Syria. In a statement posted on its social media page X (formerly Twitter), CENTCOM stated that on December 3rd, 15 rockets of 122mm caliber were fired at the American base in Rumaylan.

There is currently no information on casualties or equipment damage.

The operational group responsible for the “Unwavering Resolve” operation has identified the location from where the rockets were launched and has shared this information with Iraqi security forces.

Earlier, CENTCOM reported that on December 3rd, the forces of the international operational group conducting the “Unwavering Resolve” operation in Iraq encountered five extremists who were preparing to launch a drone.

According to Pentagon data published by The Washington Post, US military forces in the Middle East have faced at least 76 attacks by militants since October due to the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Rocket attacks and drone strikes against US troops in Iraq and Syria have been occurring almost daily.

Additionally, CENTCOM has reported attacks by Yemeni Houthi rebels from the “Ansar Allah” movement, supported by Iran, on three commercial vessels in the Red Sea. The US Navy destroyer “Carney” successfully repelled the attacks, shooting down at least three drones.

Earlier, Shiite groups claimed responsibility for drone attacks on US bases in Syria and Iraq.
