Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated the crew of the frigate “Admiral Makarov” on being awarded the prestigious title of “Guard,” citing their exemplary military duty during a special military operation. The corresponding telegram was posted on the Kremlin’s website.
“Dear comrades! I congratulate you on the frigate ‘Admiral Makarov’ being bestowed with the honorary title of ‘Guard.’ This is a high honor and recognition of your special merits, mass heroism, courage, resilience, and bravery demonstrated in the defense of the Motherland and the state interests of Russia,” the telegram stated.
The head of state noted that the skilled and decisive actions of the crew of the “Admiral Makarov” during the special operation serve as an example of fulfilling military duty, bravery, selflessness, and high professionalism.
Last week, Putin issued a decree awarding the frigate “Admiral Makarov” the honorary title of “Guard” for the heroism displayed by the ship’s personnel during combat operations.
