Suspect in Custody After Fatal Stabbing at Philadelphia Macy’s

One suspect has been arrested after a stabbing incident at a Macy’s store in Philadelphia, resulting in the death of one loss prevention employee and another being treated for injuries. The injured workers were quickly transported to Jefferson Hospital, while police swiftly responded to the scene, as reported by FOX 29 Philadelphia journalist Steve Keeley.

According to transit police, the suspect fled the scene and boarded a SEPTA train. However, Philadelphia police successfully apprehended the suspect at Somerset Station. The department is now leading the investigation into the incident.

The Macy’s store where the incident occurred is located in the center city of Philadelphia, right across from city hall. Crime scene tape now surrounds the store’s entrance, indicating an active investigation.

Police at the scene provided details of the incident, stating that it began when a man attempted to steal some hats. Security guards intervened, recovering the stolen merchandise and allowing the man to leave. However, the same individual later returned to the store and attacked the security guards. The suspect immediately targeted one security guard with a knife, stabbing him. Another security guard, attempting to assist the injured colleague, also sustained multiple stab wounds.
