Additionally, the request includes $13.6 billion for border measures, such as expediting asylum processing, and significant investments in Indo-Pacific security assistance, totaling around $7.4 billion. Humanitarian aid for Ukraine, Israel, and Gaza is also proposed with $9 billion earmarked for this purpose.
It is worth noting that the House and Senate previously passed a temporary spending patch in September, ensuring government funding until the following year. However, the funding did not include continued support for Ukraine, despite President Biden’s request.
