Arrest Made in Connection to Cash App Founder’s Murder: Sister of Accused IT Entrepreneur Arrested on DUI and Hit-and-Run Charges

The family of the 38-year-old IT entrepreneur accused of killing Cash App founder Bob Lee had their first court appearance and declined to answer questions from the media. In a new development, the San Francisco woman believed to have partied with Cash App founder Bob Lee at her luxury Millennium Tower apartment the night of his death has been arrested on DUI and hit-and-run charges. Khazar Momeni, the wife of plastic surgeon Dino Elyassnia and whose brother is charged in Lee’s death, crashed her car shortly after 11 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Geary and Larkin Streets in the Tenderloin District, according to San Francisco Police.

Responding officers found probable cause to charge her with driving under the influence and also filed two hit-and-run charges. She was also accused of failing to provide proof of insurance and failing to drive within her lane. Momeni, 38, posted bail earlier this week but has not yet appeared in court. Her attorneys have not responded to messages seeking comment.

Meanwhile, her brother, Silicon Valley outsourcing entrepreneur Nima Momeni, is due in court today in connection to Lee’s April stabbing. Nima Momeni has pleaded not guilty to murder charges. Surveillance video showed the victim stumbling down a sidewalk, clutching at his wounds and begging for help before collapsing outside a hotel lobby in the waterfront Rincon Hill neighborhood.

According to San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins’ office, Nima Momeni led Lee out of his sister’s apartment building, drove him to a parking lot, and allegedly stabbed him while Lee was visiting on a business trip. The alleged murder weapon, a knife covered in both Lee’s blood and Nima Momeni’s DNA, was found to have come from Khazar Momeni’s kitchen, according to police.

Court documents revealed text messages exchanged between Lee and Khazar Momeni, where she praised Lee for handling himself with class after her brother allegedly confronted him. Witnesses also claimed that Lee and Khazar Momeni may have been involved in an intimate relationship and were seen drinking together the day before the murder. The witness further stated that on the night of the murder, Khazar Momeni grilled Lee about her sister’s alleged drug use or inappropriate behavior.

The investigation into Bob Lee’s murder has brought to light allegations of drug use and casual sex within Lee’s social circles, including Khazar Momeni. However, both Lee’s supporters and Khazar Momeni’s attorneys have disputed these claims.

Bob Lee’s autopsy revealed the presence of cocaine, ketamine, alcohol, and the anti-allergy drug levocetirizine in his system at the time of his death. The combination of levocetirizine with alcohol and ketamine can have adverse effects, according to the Mayo Clinic.

The arrest of Khazar Momeni adds a new dimension to the ongoing investigation into the murder of Cash App founder Bob Lee. As the case unfolds, more details are expected to emerge.
