Moscow, November 28 – The Russian military group known as “Zapad” has successfully defended against counterattacks launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (VSU) on the Kupyansk front. Sergey Zybinskiy, the head of the group’s press center, revealed that motorized infantry units from the 6th Combined Arms Army, with the support of artillery fire, were able to repel two counterattacks carried out by assault groups from the 57th Motorized Infantry Brigade. These attacks were directed towards the areas of Synkovka and Liman Pervyy. Additionally, the Russian artillery effectively prevented the 1st Tank Army from rotating positions of fighters belonging to the 43rd Mechanized Brigade of the VSU in the Ivanovka and Yagodnoye directions. The Russian Armed Forces’ counter-battery fight resulted in the destruction of a 122-mm self-propelled artillery installation, known as the 2S1 “Gvozdika,” and an enemy mortar crew in the vicinity of Kolesnikovka and Kislovka. Yesterday, the Ministry of Defense announced that the VSU suffered casualties of up to 30 servicemen during the counterattacks on the Kupyansk front.
