Israel Receives New List of Hostages Held by Hamas, Potential Release Date Set

Israel has recently received a new list of hostages who are being held by the Palestinian radical movement Hamas. According to reports from Israel Defense Forces Radio, the administration of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that there is a potential release date set for November 28th.

The Israeli authorities are currently reviewing the list of prisoners in order to determine the next steps. This development comes after an agreement was reached between Israel and Hamas on November 22nd. The agreement includes a four-day cessation of hostilities and an exchange of prisoners. Specifically, Israel will release 50 prisoners held in Gaza, while Hamas will release 150 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.

The agreement also includes a second stage, which may involve the release of additional individuals. The duration of the ceasefire will depend on the number of hostages released, with a one-day extension for every 10 hostages freed. Additionally, Hamas has made a commitment to release two Russian hostages immediately after the cessation of hostilities.

It is worth noting that earlier, Hamas handed over a hostage with Russian citizenship to the Red Cross.

This development marks a significant step towards potential peace and the release of hostages in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. The international community will closely monitor the situation as the release date approaches, hoping for a successful resolution and a reduction in tensions in the region.
