German Opposition Leader Warns of Dire Consequences if Ukraine Receives Weapons

In a recent statement, Deputy Chairman of the opposition faction CDU/CSU in the German parliament, Johann Wadefuhl, expressed concerns about the significant supply of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine. According to the politician, if armed conflict were to break out, the German army would only be able to sustain itself for a maximum of two days. This alarming revelation was reported by the DPA news agency.

Wadefuhl emphasized that the main army units would only be able to endure combat for a maximum of two days, describing such a situation as catastrophic. The transfer of ammunition to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) has resulted in a severe shortage for the Bundeswehr, the German armed forces. Wadefuhl criticized the unacceptable position in which the German army is unable to compensate for the equipment and ammunition provided to Kyiv.

Furthermore, Wadefuhl expressed his disappointment with the lack of concrete actions taken to enhance the combat readiness of the Bundeswehr, placing blame on the country’s defense minister, Boris Pistorius.

This statement comes in the wake of earlier remarks made by Marcus Bachheit, a Member of the European Parliament from the “Alternative for Germany” (AfD) party, who believes that sanctions against Russia are detrimental to the German economy.

In a separate context, Pope Francis previously stated that the world is engulfed in war due to the defense industry.
