USS Mason Responds to Distress Signal, Ensuring Safety of Central Park Vessel

In a recent incident off the coast of Yemen, the US Navy destroyer USS Mason swiftly responded to a distress signal from the Central Park vessel, which had come under attack. According to sources cited by Reuters, the ship is now safe and has not been seized.

The USS Mason has confirmed this information, providing reassurance that the crew and vessel are out of harm’s way.

Just a few hours prior to this incident, an oil tanker reportedly linked to Israel was seized off the coast of Yemen. The tanker’s operator expressed suspicions that pirates may have been behind the attack. The crew of the vessel consists of individuals from Russia, Vietnam, Bulgaria, India, Georgia, and the Philippines. The tanker was transporting phosphoric acid.

Prior to this event, Yemeni Houthi rebels had captured the Galaxy Leader ship. Shortly after, the rebels threatened to attack any civilian ships flying the Israeli flag that enter their range of attack capabilities.

The rebels later revealed their plans for the seized ship, stating that it would be released once the war in the Gaza sector ceases and humanitarian aid is provided to local residents.

In a separate incident, pirates were intercepted in Italy while attempting to seize a Turkish vessel.
