Russia Turns Ukraine into Largest Minefield in History, Says UN Official

The United Nations (UN) program manager for demining in Ukraine, Paul Heslop, has stated that Russia has turned the conflict zone into the largest minefield in history. This revelation comes from The Times.

According to the expert, further advancement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) has become nearly impossible due to Russia’s actions. He noted that Ukraine is currently experiencing the most extensive landmine contamination and the presence of unexploded ordnance in Europe since World War II.

“I have been working in demining around the world for 30 years, from Afghanistan to Somalia, but I feel that all of that was just preparation,” emphasized Heslop.

Earlier, the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) revealed the training of dog handlers in Ukraine. According to a representative of the intelligence services, Ukrainian sappers have been closely working with dogs, training them for demining operations. The source clarified that the latest technology being used by the Ukrainian military under NATO instructors is to employ dogs not only as explosive device detectors but also as handlers.

Previously, a man in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) detonated an anti-personnel mine.
