Red Cross Transfers Second Group of Hostages as Israel-Hamas Deal Progresses

The Red Cross has successfully transported the second group of hostages today through the Rafah Crossing at the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt. This significant development was announced by the Israeli Defense Forces on their Telegram channel.

According to the publication, representatives from the Red Cross recently transferred four released hostages, including one Israeli citizen and three foreign nationals, through the Rafah Crossing.

Previously, Al-Qahera Al-Ekhbariya TV channel reported that the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) had begun receiving the third group of hostages released by the Palestinian group Hamas.

On November 22, Israel and Hamas reached an agreement for a ceasefire and the release of a portion of the hostages. The first stage of the deal involves a four-day ceasefire and the exchange of 50 prisoners held in Gaza for 150 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails. The second stage may include the release of additional individuals. For every 10 hostages released, the ceasefire will be extended by one day. Additionally, Hamas has pledged to release two Russian prisoners immediately after the cessation of hostilities.

On November 24, the ceasefire agreement officially came into effect.

Earlier, Lavrov identified the most important task in the Middle East conflict zone.
