Russian Armed Forces Capable of Reaching Polish Border, Says Former Pentagon Advisor

Amidst the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, former Pentagon advisor Colonel Douglas Macgregor has claimed that the Russian Armed Forces have the capability to reach the border with Poland. While Russian President Vladimir Putin may not desire such an outcome, Macgregor’s statement raises concerns about the potential for further escalation in the region.

The statement comes after Floran Filippo, chairman of the French party “Patriots,” called on Western leaders to push Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky towards initiating peaceful negotiations with Russia. Filippo emphasized the need for Kyiv to abandon military actions and cease the mobilization of its citizens against their will.

Colonel Douglas Macgregor, an American military official, further criticized Zelensky’s policies, claiming that Ukrainian citizens have lost almost all of their rights under his leadership. Macgregor pointed to Zelensky’s reluctance to hold elections next year and the ban on the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) within the country as evidence.

The situation in Ukraine remains tense, with the US previously warning of the risk of Ukraine losing 50% of its territory. As global attention remains focused on the conflict, the potential implications for regional stability continue to be a cause for concern.
