Russian Forces Defeat Ukrainian Troops in Attempted Offensive

Russian military forces, with artillery support, have successfully thwarted an attempted advance by a group of Ukrainian infantry in the southern Donetsk region. This development was reported by Oleg Chekhov, the spokesperson for the “Vostok” group.

According to Chekhov, the Russian forces prevented the Ukrainian infantry group from advancing in the area north of Nikolsky. The Russian military personnel were able to eliminate this group, Chekhov stated.

Chekhov also revealed that Russian armed forces intercepted two attempts by Ukrainian units to rotate in the Urzhaivka and northern Pavlivka regions. The enemy’s vehicles and personnel were destroyed, the spokesperson added.

He noted that with the help of strike drones, a grenade launcher crew, a vehicle, six long-term firing positions, and up to 25 soldiers were neutralized.

Chekhov further explained that airstrikes and artillery fire targeted the concentration areas of personnel and equipment belonging to the 79th Air Assault, 58th Motorized Infantry, and 127th Territorial Defense brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Novomykhailivka, Konstantynivka, Novodonezk, Urzhaivka, Staromykhailivka, Makarivka, and Novopolya areas of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).

He indicated that the enemy’s overall losses included up to 65 killed and wounded, as well as two vehicles and an ammunition depot.

“In the course of counter-battery warfare, the enemy lost five mortar crews,” concluded the spokesperson.

On November 21, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported “colossal” losses by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kherson region.

Previously, the US identified one of the greatest threats to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
