Robert F. Kennedy Jr., now 70 years old, once had a list of up to 43 rumored mistresses stored on his cellphone. These women were listed under the letter ‘G,’ which was believed by his late second wife to stand for “goomar,” the Italian slang for mistress. One of these women was actress Cheryl Hines, who married Kennedy at their family compound in Hyannis Port in 2014. Hines has not commented on reports that her husband was sexting with New York magazine journalist Olivia Nuzzi earlier this year. In 2014, Kennedy also had contact information for Chelsea Chapman Kirwan, who was linked to him during her own divorce from celebrity plastic surgeon Lawrence Kirwan.
The list included women with the same first name, and entries were distinguished by their profession or city. It appeared that Kennedy had a woman in almost every city, including at least five in Toronto; one in Paris; others in Palm Beach and Pensacola, Florida; Alaska; Aspen, Colorado; Miami; Montreal, and Cleveland.
Kennedy’s second wife, Mary Richardson, died by suicide in 2012 and once told a friend that her husband used aliases to hide his own identity while globe-trotting. His preferred pseudonym was “Robert Strong.” Kennedy, through a spokesman, refused to comment when the revelations came to light in 2014.
Kennedy’s extramarital exploits were documented in a series of diaries seen by The Post after Mary’s tragic death. These diaries included codes for different sexual acts. In 2001, Kennedy wrote about struggling with “lust demons.” He later said the diaries were “a tool for self-examination and for dealing with my spiritual struggles at the time.
In recent news, New York magazine revealed that political reporter Olivia Nuzzi was on leave following the revelation she had a personal relationship with a subject close to the 2024 presidential race. The subject in question was later revealed to be Kennedy, whom Nuzzi profiled for the magazine in November 2023. It is alleged that the pair were sexting at some point this year. In her own statement about the entanglement, Nuzzi did not name Kennedy and denied that the relationship was ever physical. A spokesperson for Kennedy, who suspended his presidential campaign last month and endorsed Donald Trump, insisted he only met the writer once.
