Former President Donald Trump announced that he will not be participating in any more debates against Vice President Kamala Harris. In an exclusive interview with The Post, Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the way the previous debates were conducted, particularly criticizing ABC News moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis for not challenging Harris on her falsehoods while giving him a hard time.
Trump initially proposed three debates with Harris, one hosted by Fox News, another by ABC News, and the last one by NBC News. However, after the Democratic campaign declined to participate in the Fox debate, Trump took part in a town hall alongside Sean Hannity. In recent developments, Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, is scheduled to face off against Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on October 1st at a CBS News-hosted event.
Despite his withdrawal from further debates, Trump remains supportive of his campaign and provided three words of advice for his running mate: “just be yourself.” He also expressed confidence in Vance’s ability to perform well during the upcoming debate.
