Rising Crime Waves: Migrant Impact on NYC’s Five Boroughs

Crime rates have soared across New York City’s five boroughs as local police sources report that a significant number of the perpetrators are migrants who entered the country during the Biden administration’s open border policies, and subsequent release into U.S. communities. The sources claim that the migrants enter the city via its sanctuary city laws, which protect undocumented immigrants from deportation, even if they commit crimes.

Law enforcement sources say that while it’s difficult to quantify the exact percentage of migrant-related crimes in each borough, they believe the figures would be significantly lower if there was a wall at the border and more efficient processes for identifying and removing criminals from the country. The sources also argue that the ongoing crisis is exacerbated by the fact that some migrants are repeatedly arrested and released back onto the streets to reoffend.

In Manhattan, it’s believed that “more than 50%” of people arrested in certain areas are migrants, while in Queens, one officer estimated that “more than 60%” of those arrested in Jackson Heights are undocumented immigrants from Mexico and Central America. The same source also said the area around Roosevelt Avenue and 91st Street has become a third-world country and looks like a scene from Casablanca due to the abundance of vendors and prostitutes who have taken over the sidewalks.

One pharmacist in Jackson Heights reported that there are more prostitutes than ever before, with women dressed similarly and appearing daily. Business owners and residents in the area also voiced their concerns about the decline in quality of life since the influx of migrants began, expressing frustration at City Hall for not addressing their concerns.

Patrick Lynch, President of the NYPD’s Police Benevolent Association (PBA), criticized the courts for failing to protect New Yorkers and hold lawbreakers accountable. He urged that a change in messaging is needed to deter criminals from coming to New York City to commit crimes and attack police officers.

However, some migrants who have been arrested multiple times argue that life in the U.S. was not what they expected when they first arrived, with one individual claiming it’s “not a bed of roses.” Despite access to shelter services, many migrants report theft among fellow undocumented immigrants and difficulty adapting to life in their new surroundings.
