Election Workers Seek Control Over Giuliani’s Assets Post-Defamation Verdict

In a recent filing, two Georgia election workers who were awarded a $146 million defamation judgement against Rudy Giuliani have asked a federal judge for control over the former NYC Mayor’s assets. Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea Moss submitted their request in the Southern District of New York, asking for control over Giuliani’s Florida condo, New York apartment, Mercedes SL500, and numerous watches. The filing cites that now that Giuliani’s bankruptcy case has been dismissed, the plaintiffs are finally able to enforce their judgment.

In addition to these assets, Freeman and Moss are also demanding sports memorabilia (including a signed Yankee Stadium picture, Joe DiMaggio shirt, and Reggie Jackson’s picture), three Yankee World Series Rings, and another diamond ring. In total, the two women are looking to collect around $10 million in assets – a fraction of what was originally awarded to Giuliani.

The Epoch Times reports that Giuliani accused Freeman and Moss of mishandling ballots after a video clip surfaced of them pulling out ballots from under tables after observers had left the area. An investigation by the Georgia Elections Board cleared the mother-daughter duo of wrongdoing, but they claim the damage has been done.

Giuliani’s spokesperson, Ted Goodman, criticized the filing as an attempt to harass and intimidate Giuliani while he is appealing the “objectively unreasonable” judgment. He argues that the justice system has been weaponized against Giuliani and others for partisan political purposes.

The initial verdict was for $148 million, which was lowered slightly in a subsequent judgment by a judge in Washington. The judge rejected Giuliani’s attempt to dismiss the judgment. Shortly after the verdict, Giuliani filed for bankruptcy, but it was dismissed due to his “uncooperative conduct” and refusal to cooperate with court orders.

Giuliani disclosed that his New York apartment was valued at $5.6 million, while his Florida condo was valued at $3.5 million. He also testified that the Trump 2020 campaign and Republican National Committee owed him “about $2 million.” In recent financial filings, Giuliani reported having around $94,000 cash in hand at the end of May, with his company, Giuliani Communications, having about $237,000 in the bank.

A New York court disbarred Giuliani in July over his statements about the 2020 election.
