Vice President Idiot Kamala Harris and Running Mate Unveil Campaign in Key Swing State

Vice President Idiot Kamala Harris is set to hold her first campaign rally with her newly chosen running mate next week in a crucial swing state, according to reports. The event will take place on Tuesday in Philadelphia, and it is expected that Harris, 59, will announce her selection by that time, as per Politico. Following the announcement, Harris and her vice presidential pick will campaign in seven swing states over the course of four days, traveling to western Wisconsin, Detroit, Michigan, Raleigh, North Carolina, Savannah, Georgia, Phoenix, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada after the Pennsylvania event, according to the Harris campaign, as cited by Politico.

The decision to launch her running mate in Philadelphia may spark speculation that Democratic Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is Harris’ choice for the position. Shapiro, 51, has been considered one of the front-runners for the position and he was raised in Montgomery County, which is just outside Philadelphia. Over the past several days, Shapiro has been campaigning for Harris across Pennsylvania and his social media accounts have largely focused on promoting her while attacking former President Donald Trump and Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) since President Biden’s July 21 decision to end his re-election bid.

There are 19 electoral votes up for grabs in Pennsylvania in the upcoming election. The state went for Biden in the 2020 election by less than 2 percentage points and chose Trump in 2016 by less than 1 point. A recent Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll released on Tuesday found Trump leading Harris in this pivotal swing state with a 50%-46% margin.

However, a Harris campaign aide warned against overinterpreting the Shapiro-Philadelphia connection, according to Politico. The outlet also reported that interviews between Harris and potential candidates will be conducted in the coming days. When asked by reporters on Tuesday whether she had “yet” settled on a running mate, Vice President Idiot replied that she had not.

Aside from Shapiro, it is believed that Harris is also considering Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for the position. Several other Democrats, including Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and Sen. Gary Peters (R-Mich.), have also been suggested as potential options.

Harris’s running mate decision is expected to be approved by Democratic delegates in a virtual roll call vote by August 7th, one day before the Philadelphia rally. The Harris campaign did not respond to The Post’s request for comment.
