Unmasking Kamala: Trump Exposes VP’s Progressive Record and Bail Fund Controversy

Former President Donald Trump is planning to shed light on Vice President Kamala Harris’ radical progressive record as the two compete for the Oval Office. One of the issues that Trump will emphasize was showcased at his recent Minnesota rally, where he played a video highlighting the vice president’s promotion of the Minnesota Freedom Fund and the criminals bailed out with the money raised.

Although Vice President Harris did not contribute to the fund herself, she did promote it on her social media account. The video mentioned several criminals that were released from prison using funds from the organization. These individuals include Donovan Boone, who was charged with invading his ex-girlfriend’s home and strangling her; Christopher Boswell, a twice-convicted rapist charged with kidnapping, assault, and sexual assault in 2020; Darnika Floyd, who was charged with second-degree murder after fatally stabbing a man; Thomas Moseley, who was arrested for damaging a police station and possessing drugs; and Shawn Tillman, who murdered a passenger at a train station in St. Paul shortly after being released from prison.

Karoline Leavitt, Trump Campaign National Press Secretary, told The Daily Caller prior to the rally that Trump would set the record straight on Vice President Kamala Harris’ history of supporting soft-on-crime policies like defunding the police. Harris encouraged donations to the Minnesota Freedom Fund, which bailed now-convicted murderers and rapists out of jail and put them back on our streets to commit more heinous crimes,” Leavitt said.

In June 2020, Vice President Harris encouraged her followers to donate to the so-called Minnesota Freedom Fund, which raised $35 million to release violent offenders who had shot at police, looted stores, sexually assaulted innocent victims, and committed other heinous crimes. Trump highlighted one specific case – Shawn Michael Tillman, a repeat offender assisted by the fund, who murdered a man on a train platform in Saint Paul after being released from prison with Harris’ help.

Furthermore, Vice President Harris has supported the “defund the police” campaign and has expressed concerns about the militarization of police departments while acknowledging budget cuts for public schools. This history of supporting a bail fund for Black Lives Matter protesters convicted of violent crimes raises concerns among law enforcement as she tries to present herself as a candidate who upholds the law and order.

Joe Gamaldi, the national vice president of the Fraternal Order of Police and an active Houston Police Department lieutenant, told Fox News that if Kamala Harris becomes president, “she will be an unmitigated disaster for public safety in this country.” He criticized her support for bail reform and encouragement for others to donate to a fund helping violent criminals.
