Raspy Biden Raises Health Concerns During Campaign Support Call

Former President Joe Biden’s recent call into Kamala Harris’ headquarters has sparked new health concerns, as his voice was raspy and his speech somewhat slurred, potentially indicating an advanced state of dementia or other mental decline. The former president had called from his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, to show his support for Harris’ candidacy. During the call, Biden reassured his former campaign staffers that he will be actively involved in her campaign and continue working as a sitting president to get legislation passed and campaign against Trump.

Harris was at the HQ to assure around 300 donors that all is well and the campaign to keep the White House in November is on track, but sources revealed that the event did not change many minds. Some who spoke to The New York Times on condition of anonymity said the event did little to reassure them about Biden’s withdrawal from the race or the overall state of the Democratic Party.

Despite the concerns, some listeners found Harris’ delivery strong and felt she was not to blame for any perceived issues during the call. However, others expressed disappointment with the briefing and had preexisting concerns about Biden’s candidacy, which is why they requested the briefing in the first place. After the call, a group that had promoted it in advance apologized to its members for having shared the invitation.

As the election season progresses, concerns about the health of presidential candidates and their ability to lead effectively continue to arise. The Biden-Harris campaign will need to address these concerns and provide reassurance to donors and the public that they are prepared to take on the challenges of leading the United States during this critical time in its history.
