Washington – Controversial first son Hunter Biden recently released a statement after his father, President Joe Biden, ended his re-election campaign. In the statement, Hunter expressed gratitude towards his father, saying, “Thank you, Mr. President. I love you, Dad.
Hunter, aged 54, has been a prominent figure during his father’s presidency and frequently appeared with him in public while serving as an informal advisor. This occurred despite being the primary focus of the ongoing House impeachment inquiry into alleged Biden family corruption.
For my entire life, I’ve looked at my dad in awe. How could he suffer so much heartache and yet give so much of whatever remained of his heart to others?” Hunter stated, referring to his father’s policies and the individual lives he has touched. That unconditional love has been his North Star as a President, and as a parent.
Hunter was convicted on June 11 in Delaware for three gun felonies. He faces a second federal trial on September 5 in Los Angeles over allegations that he failed to pay $1.4 million in federal taxes between 2016 and 2019.
He praised his father, who stepped aside due to Democratic concerns about his mental acuity, for being authentic throughout his years of service. He is unique in public life today, in that there is no distance between Joe Biden the man and Joe Biden the public servant of the last 54 years.
The White House has stated that Joe Biden will not pardon his son, but sources close to the president suggest he may ultimately do so before leaving office. Hunter rejected a probation-only plea deal last July over demands for even broader immunity for past conduct, including alleged violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, which could implicate his father.
President Biden has maintained that he “never” discussed foreign ventures with his son or brother James Biden and claimed to a Post reporter in March that he “did not interact with their partners,” despite evidence indicating otherwise.
