Kamala Slams Trump-Loyal Vance: A Clash of Political Loyalty

In recent events, Vice President Kamala Harris has criticized Republican vice presidential nominee and Senator JD Vance (R-OH), accusing him of being “loyal only to Trump, not to our country.” This statement comes just days after former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday. President Joe Biden and Harris had called for the “temperature” to be lowered on the campaign trail, but she seems to be abandoning that in her latest attack on Vance and Trump.

Harris made the statement during a speech where she mentioned, “Hey, everyone. So Donald Trump has picked his new running mate, JD Vance. Trump looked for someone he knew would be a rubber stamp for his extreme agenda. And make no mistake, JD Vance will be loyal only to Trump, not to our country.” She continued by mentioning how Vance said he would have carried out Trump’s plan to overturn the 2020 election and supports a national abortion ban.

Vance responded by sending out a memo to supporters on Wednesday about what to expect. He mentioned that when President Trump asked him to be his Vice Presidential Nominee, he told Trump, “Mr. President, it would be an honor to serve as your Vice President.” Vance also added, “President Trump will Make America Great Again, and I know together, we will win big.

Trump announced Vance as his running mate on Monday afternoon through his Truth Social platform, emphasizing that Vance would be “strongly focused on the people he fought so brilliantly for, the American Workers and Farmers in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and far beyond…” before building his political career.

As part of his venture capitalist background, Vance’s Silicon Valley contacts helped him bring investor dollars to Ohio and fund his campaign for the Senate, as well as contribute to the Trump campaign. After graduating from Yale Law School in 2013, Vance moved to San Francisco, where he worked at Mithril Capital, a firm co-founded by former PayPal CEO and Republican donor Peter Thiel. Vance also spent time in his early career near the nation’s capital working for former AOL CEO Steve Case’s venture capital firm, Revolution LLC.

The recent events involving Vice President Kamala Harris and Senator JD Vance (R-OH) have sparked further discussion about the role of loyalty in politics and how it can impact decision-making on important issues such as election integrity and women’s rights.
