Trump’s Miraculous Escape: Rally Assailant Stopped by Secret Service, Doctors Confirm No Concussive Effects

Former President Donald Trump was nearly assassinated at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania last Saturday by an attacker wielding a .22 caliber AR-15-style rifle. The assailant, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, managed to graze Trump’s right ear with the bullet. This shocking incident resulted in the death of one rally attendee and injuries to two others. Quickly responding to the situation, Secret Service counter-snipers fatally shot Crooks shortly after he fired at Trump.

Following the near miss, Donald Trump’s White House physician, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas), has provided an important update on Trump’s condition. Speaking with conservative podcaster Benny Johnson before the Republican National Convention began, Jackson confirmed that Trump was not suffering any concussive effects from the bullet wound. Trump had been formally nominated as the 2024 Republican presidential pick at the convention.

At the event, Trump appeared with a large bandage over his right ear where the bullet had grazed him. Examining the former president before the convention, Jackson said that the bullet had “just taken the top of his ear off” but added that it was far enough away from his head to not cause any concussive effects. He explained that Trump will be okay and should heal well in the long term.

In an emotional conversation with Johnson on “The Benny Show,” Jackson suggested that “divine intervention” may have played a part in preventing more severe injuries to Trump during the assassination attempt. The former president himself has also stated that his life was saved because he turned his head at the exact right moment while referring to a chart during his speech at the rally.

Addressing the convention as the keynote speaker on its last day, an emotional Trump entered the arena to chants of “USA” and stopped to shake hands with family members and key allies like Tucker Carlson and Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) before taking his position next to his new running mate, Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH.

Country artist Lee Greenwood, who introduced Trump during the convention, stated that prayer works in faith-based nations like the United States and believes that Trump’s miraculous escape from the assassination attempt was a sign that God would make some changes in the country to bring about a new administration.
