Former President Donald Trump’s Super PAC, Make America Great Again Inc., reported an impressive $104 million in fundraising for the second quarter of 2024. In addition to this substantial amount, MAGA Inc. disclosed that it has close to $114 million in cash as initially revealed to Fox News on Friday. This announcement comes just over a week after Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee combined forces to raise an astounding $331 million in the previous three months.
This significant sum surpassed the $264 million that the Democratic National Committee and President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign received during the same period. A portion of Trump’s fundraising success can be attributed to the boost he experienced following his historic guilty verdicts in his criminal trial this spring. MAGA Inc. had previously announced its plan to support the former president with a $100 million advertising campaign for summertime in crucial battleground states, coinciding with recent polling data that showed Trump ahead of Biden despite the latter’s poor performance during a debate last month.
According to a Pew Research Center survey, Trump enjoys an approval rating of 44%, while Biden stands at 40. The former president holds a double-digit lead over his successor on three critical issues: immigration policy (52% to 35%), economic policy (54% to 40%), and foreign policy (49% to 39.
Despite President Joe Biden’s announcement that he will remain in the presidential race against Trump, recent polling suggests that voters may prefer a different candidate. A Rasmussen Reports poll shared on Friday revealed that 55% of respondents want the president to step aside and allow the Democratic Party to choose another candidate. In addition, approximately 48% of Democratic voters agree that Biden should step down in favor of someone new.
Polling data from Cygnal shows further erosion of political support for President Biden, with his debate performance receiving a dismal 62% unfavorable view rating. Trump’s performance during the debate garnered him additional support from both undecided voters and those who initially supported Biden.
