Tragic Vessel Collision Claims One Life Near Plumb Beach in Brooklyn

At approximately 11:50 a.m., a tragic accident occurred near Plumb Beach in Brooklyn, involving two vessels colliding in the Gerritsen Creek waters. The incident resulted in one man’s death and three others sustaining injuries. Police reported that a 58-year-old man, a 56-year-old man, and a 45-year-old woman were on one of the boats, while a 68-year-old man was aboard the second boat.

The 58-year-old man received CPR at the scene before being transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health in critical condition. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away later on. The other two individuals involved in the accident were taken to Coney Island Hospital, where they were treated for their injuries and are now reportedly in stable condition.

The 68-year-old man received minor injuries at the scene and did not require hospitalization. At this time, authorities have not yet determined what caused the collision between the two vessels. The New York Police Department (NYPD) has stated that no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
