Hunter Biden’s White House Visits Raise Security Concerns

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner has demanded answers from the White House regarding whether Hunter Biden attends classified briefings or is privy to sensitive information, as the first son reappeared at the Executive Mansion this week to support his father’s faltering re-election campaign.

Turner (R-Ohio) wrote a letter on Wednesday to White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients, stating that White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had confirmed Hunter Biden’s attendance at official White House meetings involving President Joe Biden and his staff members. Turner requested an immediate response from the White House, requesting information on the official meetings Hunter Biden is participating in and whether classified information is being disclosed during these sessions.

Hunter Biden has been attending White House meetings since his father’s return from a first family retreat at Camp David. A source close to the situation told The Post that the first son is mistrustful of West Wing aides, and believes his dad remains “scrappy and in command of the facts” despite a weak debate performance against former President Donald Trump last week.

Hunter Biden’s presence in the White House has been a concern for security personnel for years. Secret Service agents were surprised to learn during the first year of Joe Biden’s presidency that Hunter was on his way to the highly secure Situation Room, according to sources. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre explained that Hunter’s presence in these meetings was due to preparation for a speech the president would give Monday night about the Supreme Court’s decision regarding immunity.

Hunter returned to the White House from another Camp David visit last July, just hours after cocaine was found in a holding area outside the Situation Room. In June, Hunter pleaded guilty to probation-only charges for tax and gun crimes, which later fell apart, and looped his father into plans to ignore a congressional subpoena related to his business dealings abroad.

Hunter’s presence at the White House is particularly concerning given that he became a convicted felon in June following a federal trial that found him guilty of three gun charges, with another potential felony verdict looming in September for evading $1.4 million in tax payments. He was also interviewed during special counsel Robert Hur’s investigation into his father last year, which revealed that Joe Biden “willfully retained and disclosed classified materials.

Despite concerns about the proximity of sensitive information to Hunter Biden, no official response has been received from the White House as of yet.
