Trump Reaches Out: A Heartfelt Call Before Debate

As the former President Donald Trump was preparing for his first presidential debate against Joe Biden, he demonstrated actions that one would expect from an individual currently occupying the White House. In stark contrast, while his opponent secluded himself and later gave one of the worst debate performances in political history, Trump took a few moments before his own debate to personally call the mother of Jocelyn Nungaray, who was allegedly brutally murdered by two undocumented immigrants.

The murder occurred under the watch of President Joe Biden, whose administration released these individuals into the United States. The mother of 12-year-old Alexis Nungaray, best friend to Jocelyn, was reportedly “shocked” when she received a call from Trump ten minutes before his debate began. According to The New York Post, Trump reassured her that there was no one he would have preferred to speak with before the debate commenced.

Victoria Galvan, who was with Alexis Nungaray during the call, told The Post that Trump expressed condolences and promised to reach out to her again in a few days. Both women were astonished by the former president’s attentiveness to their case. They discussed how Jocelyn would have been stunned by Trump’s interest in her story.

Christine Nunez, a cousin of Jocelyn’s grandmother, spoke to The Post outside of Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, where a service for Jocelyn was held. She shared that her views on immigration had changed since the tragic event. Initially feeling sympathy for immigrants, she now believes in stricter border control measures.

I used to feel bad for the immigrants,” Nunez told The Post. But ever since this happened, it’s made me change my mind about who to let in and who not to let in.

Tyrone Jones, a fellow mourner at Jocelyn’s service, expressed his belief that the government must improve its oversight of individuals entering the nation. He emphasized the importance of knowing whom it allows within the country.

It’s so sad that somebody had to lose their life over something,” Jones said. It’s just unbelievable.

Jocelyn Nungaray was described as an energetic, funny girl who brightened the lives of those around her. Her middle school academic adviser, January Revada, remembered Jocelyn for her passion for her studies and her ability to make others laugh.

Despite his busy schedule in preparing for a high-stakes debate, President Trump took time to show empathy and concern for the victims of this tragic crime. His actions demonstrate a level of care and attention that many expect from their nation’s leader, especially during such a difficult time for the Nungaray family.
