During an interview on the podcast On with Kara Swisher, she stated that Trump might “throw me in jail” if he secures another term. Despite the ongoing controversy surrounding Trump’s conviction in a ‘hush money’ case, recent polling data suggests that both candidates are neck-and-neck in terms of voter support. A CBS News/YouGov poll revealed that Trump holds 50% of the vote compared to Biden’s 49%, with independent voters split almost evenly between the two candidates.
Moreover, the enthusiasm gap between Trump and Biden supporters is noteworthy, as more than half of Biden’s backers cited their opposition to Trump as their primary motivation for voting for him. In contrast, a significant portion of Trump’s supporters expressed strong support for him due to their personal liking or in opposition to Biden. As the election nears, both candidates continue to campaign and seek support from undecided voters, with the future of American democracy hanging in the balance.
