Rumer’s Freedom: Embracing Postpartum Body, Celebrating Motherhood

Actress Rumer Willis spoke exclusively to DailyMail.com about her daughter Louetta, embracing her postpartum body and providing an update on her father Bruce Willis’ dementia battle at the premiere of her new film My Divorce Party at the 2024 Beverly Hills Film Festival. Rumer, 35, welcomed one-year-old Louetta, her first child with boyfriend Derek Thomas, in April 2023. She is also the first grandchild for Bruce and ex-wife Demi Moore. Rumer feels ‘very blessed’ to be Louetta’s mother and praises her as ‘the most amazing kid.’ Beaming with confidence, she looked fabulous in a strapless black minidress on the red carpet ahead of the screening. Motherhood has changed her body image for the better as she embraces the postpartum journey and doesn’t feel the pressure to ‘snap back.’ Rumer said that baby Louetta’s face lights up when she hears her phone’s FaceTime ringer, knowing it’s an incoming call from family. The Willis family has remained tight-knit despite Demi and Bruce’s divorce in 2000 after 13 years of marriage. Rumer shared how ‘sweet’ it has been to see Demi become a grandmother and how the family’s resiliency can inspire others amid Bruce’s health battle. Rumer said that sharing their experience can bring ‘hope or comfort to others experiencing [something similar], then to me that’s everything.’ She also revealed the importance of laughter in their household growing up, with her parents encouraging her and her sisters to be ‘weird and silly.’ With Mother’s Day just around the corner, Rumer expressed joy over getting to celebrate it as a mother herself for the second time.
