Rebel Wilson’s mum, Sue Bownds, was spotted doing what she loves best – judging dogs at an event in China. The actress shared a rare photo of her mother on Instagram, captioning it “Mum dog judging in China. I’m glad the Bichon one.” Sue has been a professional dog handler since 1980 and travels the world for her job. Rebel has spoken fondly of her childhood, where she would often accompany her family to dog shows around Australia. In fact, she even hosted the Australian TV show Pooch Perfect in 2020 on Channel Seven.
But away from the world of canines, Rebel has been facing a legal battle with her former Grimsby co-star Sacha Baron Cohen. The actress had accused him of inappropriate behavior during filming and wrote about it in her memoir Rebel Rising. However, after losing her court case, Rebel’s publisher HarperCollins Australia announced that they would be publishing a redacted version of the book in Australia and New Zealand. The entire chapter where Rebel accuses Cohen of wrongdoing will be blacked out.
The chapter in question is titled “Sacha Baron Cohen and Other A**holes” and details the allegedly inappropriate behavior Cohen exhibited on set during filming. A spokesperson for Baron Cohen hailed the move as a clear victory, stating that HarperCollins did not fact-check the chapter before publication. They also emphasized that printing falsehoods is against the law in both the UK and Australia.
The redacted book will be released in Australia and New Zealand on May 8th.
