God vs. the Founders: Who’s Right About Our Nation’s History

In a recent promotional clip, CNN correspondent Donie O’Sullivan interviewed a committed supporter of Donald Trump’s who was taken aback when told that God is not mentioned in the US Constitution. The woman, Julie, wore a hot pink “Trump Save America” hat and argued that journalists should stick to reporting facts rather than pushing their own agendas.

The exchange began with Julie stating her opinion on the role of journalists, prompting O’Sullivan to ask if she would like him to define the term. When he declined, the conversation turned to the content of the country’s founding documents. Julie claimed that “the facts have shown that the election was stolen,” and that she and others want to preserve their God-given freedoms.

O’Sullivan countered by stating that God-given rights are distinct from those found in the US Constitution. Julie disagreed, saying, “Read. R-E-A-D the Constitution.” When O’Sullivan insisted that God is not mentioned in the document, Julie searched for something on her phone before the clip cut away.

In reality, while the word “God” does not appear in the United States Constitution, the Declaration of Independence references “our Creator,” who has endowed all men with “certain unalienable rights.” Additionally, “God” is explicitly referenced on US currency and in most state Constitutions, according to a 2017 Pew Research Center analysis.

The exchange will be available for viewing during The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper. Meanwhile, footage of everyday Americans around the country has shown that despite CNN’s journalism, public opinion has shifted strongly away from Joe Biden and toward Donald Trump.

In one such clip, a construction worker outside Donald Trump’s Manhattan trial offered his take on the current president: “What’s it like seeing so many Republicans in Manhattan, so many Trump supporters in Manhattan? Does that surprise you?” he was asked. No, not at all. It’s turning now. It’s Trump’s turn again,” he replied without hesitation.

When asked for a message to Joe Biden, the construction worker promptly responded, “F**k you.” His statement was met with praise online, with many users agreeing that he represents the majority of America.
