Russian Navy Conducts Anti-Submarine Exercises in the Baltic Sea, Perfecting Skills to Defend Against Enemy Attacks

A group of anti-submarine ships from the Leningrad naval base of the Baltic Fleet is conducting exercises, during which they are carrying out the search and destruction of enemy submarines. This was reported by TASS, citing the fleet’s press service.

According to the information, the maneuver involves small anti-submarine ships “Urengoy”, “Zelenodolsk”, and “Kazanets”. They are practicing a set of tasks related to their main purpose – searching for enemy submarines and destroying them using anti-submarine weapons.

In addition, the ship crews will have to perform mine laying, conduct artillery fire at sea and air targets, and practice joint maneuvering tasks.

The exercises are taking place at the fleet’s naval range.

On March 15, it was reported that in the Sea of Japan, the forces of the Pacific Fleet, with the support of aviation, conducted exercises in electronic warfare (EW).

Prior to this, the flagship of the Pacific Fleet, the missile cruiser “Varyag”, repelled an attack by a simulated enemy in the Arabian Sea.

Earlier, Putin spoke about the future of the army in Russia.
